Quality & Sourcing
From Field to Shipment
Every BAAS Trading PLC shipment is backed by direct sourcing relationships and a rigorous quality control process that begins at the farm gate and ends with pre-shipment verification.
How We Source
Direct Relationships at Origin
We work directly with farmer cooperatives, washing stations, and licensed local suppliers across Ethiopia's major agricultural regions. This direct-sourcing model allows us to:
- Verify origin and growing conditions first-hand
- Maintain consistent quality across harvest seasons
- Ensure fair, timely payment reaches producers
- Build long-term supply relationships rather than opportunistic buying
Quality Control Process
Six Stages from Intake to Shipment
Raw product is assessed at collection points for moisture, defects, and consistency.
Washing, drying, hulling, cleaning, and sorting according to product-specific standards.
Coffee lots are cupped and graded by trained quality staff; other commodities undergo laboratory and physical grading.
Buyers receive pre-shipment samples for approval before contracts are finalized.
Proper packaging, labeling, and documentation, including phytosanitary and quality certificates.
Final inspection to confirm the shipped lot matches the approved sample.
